Fun bike but probably best for someone under 5'9 and less than 175lbs.

This bike performed better than I expected for its size and battery capacity. I am about 5'11" and weigh 250lbs, and it had pretty good pick up and I reached a top speed that was faster than I felt safe riding it at. The product description says that it can handle people up to 6'2" tall and 264lbs--I'd say sure, it COULD carry someone of those dimensions, but it feels and looks like it is made for a smaller person. (In one of my pictures you can see me standing over it, with the seat under me.) I will say that it got up to speed pretty fast and seemed to have plenty of power to keep me going, but at top speed I started to feel a bit unsafe, like the bike is too lightweight to really support all my weight. In the end I didn't have any issues or falls, and the bike held together, but it felt like over time I'd really put some wear on it, unless I lose another 50 or more pounds at least.

The bike was fairly easy to put together, with a few small issues along the way that took some working out, and the instructions were decent. One surprise was that they included 2 of the wrenches you need to put the front wheel on, so you can hold one nut in place while tightening the other--that was a thoughtful idea of them to include those. The front wheel seemed to not spin very smoothly at first, like it was caught up a little, and that was resolved by messing with the brake system a little bit. Also, the parts that you can adjust (the handlebars, seat, and folding mechanism) have these bolts that you can release and are easy to use once you understand how they work.

A few negatives and/or odd features: The pedals go on a specific side, and they are marked, but it was odd that the right pedal needs to be screwed on by tightening the bolt to the right, and the left pedal needs to be tightened to the left--Not sure why they do this, and it seemed odd, and I'm glad I followed the instructions because I may have stripped the bolts or something if I hadn't. The handlebar was a little tricky to get into the main frame, it was a little awkward, mainly because of the cables coming off it. The bike does fold up, as shown in the pictures, but it really isn't that lightweight to carry it around easily, not to mention, its awkward to do so. It's fine for putting it into the back of my car, and I could see doing this once in a while if I were to take the bike to a park or something like that, but day to day I wouldn't want to have to carry the thing around with me very much, like onto busses or into a store, it isn't that 'portable' in my opinion. Another odd thing is that it requires 2 different keys--One to unlock the battery so you can use the bike, and another on the handlebar that has to be turned on in order to start the bike--And they have to be left in when riding. The problem with this is that with my height, I ended up hitting the key in the handlebar with my knee. It seems like I can adjust the seat and move it back a bit, but not much, and in the end, it just felt like the bike was made for a smaller person than me. Also, the seat isn't very comfortable, but again, for someone 100lbs lighter than me it might be just fine.

Overall, I thought that a young kid or a smaller person would have lots of fun with it, but for a 5'11" tall and 250lb person like me, it felt a bit small. It still works, gets up to speed quickly, and was fun, but would fit a smaller person much better than me.

Decent Commuter Bike with all the Essential Options

IMO this is a good option for a commuter. It folds so you can take it on the train, stash it under your desk, or stow it on your boat or plane. I had a non powered folding bike about the same size that I put 3000 miles on to and from work pre-COVID and I think I have some important distinctions to make.

For one, a commuter needs fenders to keep water off your pants, a luggage rack, and the ability to fold. This has all that. It also has good lighting both front and back and the rear light blinks when the brakes are applied. It folds about as small as my non-powered bike and it has a welded stand to use when folded in addition to the kick stand. To be honest, I haven't pushed it while folded. My old bike did that but I don't do that with this bike. I just unfold and ride.

As for the ride, it is comfortable enough for a commuter. It's not something you want to go mountain biking or day long rides but that's now what it is designed for. I have a really nice electric scooter as well that goes 40mph and I sorta got used to speeds that exceed 20mph. This bike is a little slow IMO. At full speed, I feel like I need to give it a little giddy up kick but it's not a horse. As for peddling, it only has 1 gear and I can peddle about as fast as the motor will drive it. I mostly peddle when I'm going up hills but in Chicago, that's not very common unless you are crossing a bridge or train tracks and it handles these just fine. I just wish it would hit maybe 25mph. It can keep up with cars on residential streets but it isn't going to be safe on arterial streets or roads where car traffic moves at >30mph.

The battery lasts me about a week where I'm making 4 trips into work (3-4 miles round trip/day) and a few trips around town to the pickleball court, drug store, etc. I'm sure there is a logic to it but the battery and the bike use separate keys. That's 2 keys per bike. Just something to consider. I charge mine at night and in the morning, it's all ready to go. I haven't timed it yet but it does take a while to charge to 100%.

Stability is good, it's not a mountain bike but for commutes, the ride is nice.

Portability is certainly less than my non powered folder which was 25 lbs. I weight this bike and it is 55 lbs so carrying it for any distance is hard. I put the seat on top of my shoulder and that helps get me off the train or down the 20 steps from the platform to street level. Not ideal so make sure you know this fact before you think portability will be easy.

Set up is fairly straightforward and I've shown in a picture what this looks like in the box. I've assembled 3 or 4 bikes like this and all things considered, this was about the same as the others. Fairly easy and the kit comes with the tools needed. The most time I spent was ensuring the front brakes didn't rub. There isn't much guidance on how to correct this in the manual but I searched online and found the 2 screws that adjusted the calipers and was able to get it set up perfectly.

Finally, tires. They don't state the PSI or size on the sidewall. The PSI is in the manual but I'm guessing these are 16" tires. At least I hope they are because otherwise you can't replace them easy. Also, removing the rear tire, I haven't tried that yet. Might be something to consider.

Anyway, I'd say it's a good commuter bike that's a little slow, a little heavy, the battery lasts a week of light commuting, and you need 2 keys to operate. It does the job effectively.

Outstanding foldable electric bike

This folding electric bike really surprised me. The quality of its parts is excellent and very sturdy. Since the parts are foldable and the necessary tools were provided, the assembly was smooth and took me less than an hour. The small bike has brake light indicators, a front light, and the throttle handle is very easy to use. I also like its removable battery, which makes it simple to use and charge anywhere. The main feature is its foldability, making it easier to take it out. I'm looking forward to enjoying bike rides with my child.
